The camping program is a very valuable part of the nurturing of our children in their Christian walk.   Helping to send them to Church camp is one way we can do this.  It is a week away from the many distractions of today allowing them to take time to listen, learn and worship God while having fun.

Studies and surveys show that Christian Camp experiences help in specific ways.  Here are just a few highlights of benefits that people can carry forth into their daily lives.

A deeper connection with God
Spiritual growth and learning Jesus’ way of love as a way of life
Friend making skills
Greater resilience from trying and learning to do new things
Leadership development
Valuing the differences among people including oneself
Increased responsibility and follow through
Caring for the natural world and each other

The United Methodist Women have been providing funds for the church to fund half the cost of a week of camp. With the number of young people desiring to go to camp this year we have decided to help the United Methodist Women out and have April’s Mission go to helping fund half of the fee for a child or youth to go to church camp.  The average cost for a week at camp this year is $458.00 which would mean on average the church would pay $216.50 per camper.  If we receive more money than we need for this year’s campers, then we will keep it and use it for future y
ear’s campers.  So, all money given for April Missions will be used to help send children and youth to church camp this year and in future years.
